Ingredients
1 kg medium ground beef
2 tbsp Hamburger seasoning
8 buns
8 slices of old cheddar cheese
3 leaves of lettuce, torn into pieces
2 medium tomatoes, sliced thin
1 medium sweet onion, sliced thin
1 clove fresh garlic
1/4 cup salted butter
Instructions
Mix 2 tablespoons of Hogtown Hamburger with 1 kg of medium ground beef
8 equal patties (approximately 4" diameter). Remember, the patties will shrink.
Grill for 4 mins a side
Baste each side with a thin layer of honey Dijon mustard
Once you have flipped the burgers once, add a slice of old cheddar cheese, turn down to low and let it melt.
Grill buns with garlic butter on the top rack
Garnish
Tomato, sliced
Red or Sweet onion, sliced
Lettuce
Pickles (optional)
Add your favourite condiments
Notes
Remember to preheat the grill or griddle to med to high heat for a good sear.
Medium-Well: 150-155°F (66-69°C) – Mostly brown with a touch of pink in the center.
Well Done: 160°F (71°C) and above – Fully browned throughout, with a firm texture.
