Ingredients

  • 1 kg medium ground beef

  • 2 tbsp Hamburger seasoning

  • 8 buns

  • 8 slices of old cheddar cheese

  • 3 leaves of lettuce, torn into pieces

  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced thin

  • 1 medium sweet onion, sliced thin

  • 1 clove fresh garlic

  • 1/4 cup salted butter

Instructions

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons of Hogtown Hamburger with 1 kg of medium ground beef

  2. 8 equal patties (approximately 4" diameter). Remember, the patties will shrink.

  3. Grill for 4 mins a side

  4. Baste each side with a thin layer of honey Dijon mustard

  5. Once you have flipped the burgers once, add a slice of old cheddar cheese, turn down to low and let it melt.

  6. Grill buns with garlic butter on the top rack

Garnish

  • Tomato, sliced

  • Red or Sweet onion, sliced

  • Lettuce

  • Pickles (optional)

  • Add your favourite condiments

Notes

Remember to preheat the grill or griddle to med to high heat for a good sear.

 

Medium-Well: 150-155°F (66-69°C) – Mostly brown with a touch of pink in the center. 

Well Done: 160°F (71°C) and above – Fully browned throughout, with a firm texture.
