Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. medium ground beef

  • 1 large yellow onion

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/2 cup minced curly parsley

  • 2 tbsp Hogtown Kebab seasoning

  • 2 medium onions

  • 2 medium peppers

  • 2 medium tomatoes

 Instructions

  1. Prep the Protein: Add 1 kg of ground beef to a large bowl. Add 2 tbsp Hogtown Kebab seasoning and 1 teaspoon of sea salt. Finely chop the onion, garlic, and parsley and add them to the bowl. Mix the ingredients until well combined. Skewer the meat on flat metal skewers.

  2. Reminder: (If you are using wood skewers, remember to soak them to prevent burning for at least 30 minutes.) Alternatively, shape it into cylindrical pieces, similar to a hog dog.

  3. Prep the Garnish: Cut the tomatoes, onions, and peppers in half, and the peppers in quarters.

  4. Cook the Protein: BBQ: Grill the meat, as no extra oil is required, since the beef naturally renders a lot of fat. Cooking time is 10-12 minutes on medium heat. Oven: Place the meat on a cookie sheet with a rack and add the vegetables. Bake in a 400-degree oven for 10-12 minutes.

Plating - Serve family-style with Vermicelli Rice and warm, fresh Pita.

Optional Sides - Hummus, Tabbouleh, Sumac Onions with Curly Parsley, Pickled Turnips
