Chicken Tacos

In the mood for Tacos! This is a great and easy recipe for Tacos at home. They are delicious and versatile, great for any night. Serve family-style, allowing everyone to create their own, making it an inclusive and interactive experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. Chicken breast or Chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)

  • 2 tbsp Hogtown Taco seasoning

  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (for pan)

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 yellow onion, minced

  • 1 whole red or sweet onion, diced

  • 3 medium tomatoes, diced

  • 1 medium sweet pepper, diced

  • 1 medium jalapeno, sliced

  • 1 cup Cilantro, chopped

  • 1 cup of white cabbage or lettuce, sliced thin

  • 2 cups of favourite cheese, shredded

  • 1 lime, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prep the Protein - Chop or slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces, then sprinkle Hogtown Taco seasoning over the chicken. Mix the seasoning onto the chicken. Minced the garlic and onion.

  2. Prep the Toppings - Chop sweet onion, peppers, tomatoes, jalapeno, and lettuce, then set aside. Shred the cheese, then set it aside.

  3. Fast-fry - Add neutral oil to a non-stick pan and sauté onion and garlic over low to medium heat. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes and then add the chicken. You should hear the chicken sizzle as it hits the pan. Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes on medium to high heat. Continue to stir to prevent burning. Ensure it is cooked thoroughly.

  4. Tacos - Warm up soft or hard tortillas.

Plating: Serve the tacos family-style for a fun and interactive meal! Serve with Salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.

Important: Chicken is cooked thoroughly when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C)
